Hello Manchester Rugby Club, 

Just thought that I would forward you these pictures that I took at a recent 7's tournament that was held out here in Baku. As you can see Manchester shirts get everywhere and these were proudly worn by one of the local Azeri teams that were playing in the competition. Does anyone at the club remember donating them? Rugby out here is only four years old but is growing at a rapid pace. They already have three National local senior sides as well as several youth teams and of course a couple of minis from the local international schools and the orphanages. Last year the senior side entered a team in the Dubai 7's for the first time and ended up as runners up of the Plate competition of their respective group which was a remarkable achievement for their first time of entering. There is also a very good and commendable exiles team out here made up from all of the "older but not always the wiser" expats that work and live out here. The games between the National and exiles sides certainly show the difference between the wise old heads who want to hold onto the ball and the young bucks who want to run and score trys.

I hope that the club overall is going well and that the minis are still turning out despite all the cold and wet weather that you will be having about now. Will keep in touch with more information if and when I get it.
